Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.
Position Description
Morgan Stanley's Commercial Real Estate Lending focuses on the origination, loan syndication, securitization and asset management of CRE mortgage loans and loan pools within the Securitized Products Group (SPG). This is a rapidly expanding business within Fixed Income being recognized for providing traditional and innovative financing techniques, helping a wide range of global clients to execute their business strategy.
We are currently seeking interested Associate/VP level candidates to join our team based in New York. This candidate would join the Large Loan originations platform covering some of the top clients within Commercial Real Estate. The candidate will work closely with all members of the CREL Lending team including the US Head of Real Estate, syndication, securitization, closing, credit, and asset management teams. The role requires a keen interest and experience in commercial real estate credit, underwriting and origination.
Primary Responsibilities

Lead underwriting of potential large loan transactions for both balance sheet and securitization exits which include analysing property cash flows, sizing debt metrics, and completing market analysis

Prepare presentations including internal credit memos, syndication materials, rating agency presentations which summarizing the key elements of each deal including nuances in structure and property credit

Manage the process of deal flow internally from sizing, pricing, and closing keeping track of due diligence items and coordinating between internal supporting functions and externally with clients, lending partners and brokers.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $200,000 per year for Associate at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
